The Utah Republican Party made an attempt to repeal the state's voter-approved anti-gerrymandering law on Saturday by scheduling seven public hearings - the minimum required by law before it could be sent straight to lawmakers, thus providing them an opportunity to overturn Proposition 4 without further public input. This is just the latest failed attempt by the Republican super majority to ignore the will of the people. Each of the seven Saturday public hearings were cancelled on Friday evening to end the threat for now.
